I was born and raised in Tola, Harinakundu, Jheneidah in a loving, poor and honest family. I had the best parents and grew up among loving sisters, brothers, relatives and friends. Poor yet helpful neighbors shared and cared for one another. I was fortunate to go to a school. Allah favoured me and I became a physician. During my long stay in Germany and later on, while travelling to various continents, I never felt at home anywhere. In 1983 I came home and was brought again in close contact with my village and community. I received love and respect; this obliged me to return their favour. I tried to settle near the village home; things did not work out as planned; luck brought me to Dhaka where I practice medicine. There I saw immense suffering of low-income group.

I learnt small things matter. The best one can do is to try to the best of one’s ability, the rest remains in the hands of Almighty. Helping the needy is not a choice but a God given duty, I urge everyone to Join hands in our efforts.
